THE WRITERS' ROOM OF BOSTON, INC. is a not-for-profit corporation that supports the creation of literary works by providing affordable, quiet, and safe workspace in the greater Boston area.

The organization was founded in 1988 and was incorporated as an independent organization on March 1, 1993.

The Writers' Room is governed by its members and board of directors. Members meet once a month and contribute time to the management of the room. The board of directors of the Room is made up of member writers and community leaders who support the literary arts.

Through an endowment grant from The LEF Foundation, the Writers' Room awards free workspace for one year to a gifted writer who cannot otherwise afford its fees.

Contributions to the Room are tax-deductible to the fullest extent by the law.
